Mouse Netbook With Optical Drive Released

Netbook Deals (See All)

Mouse computer (a company in Japan that rebadges other machines) has released their first netbook with an optical DVD drive, called the LB-F1500W. Looking at the picture, I’m not sure what netbook this is a rebadge of.

Nothing to get excited about it though. It’s got the usual specs: XP Home, N270 (1.6GHz) Atom CPU, 1GB, 160GB HDD, 10.2 inch screen (1024 x 600) etc. The only selling point of this is the optical drive. Comes in black or white.

It should go on sale in or around the last week of January for 64,800 yen ($729) which makes that even more expensive than the Eee PC S101 here.

It’s great news that we’re getting more netbooks with optical drives but personally, I’d rather not have an optical drive on a netbook, I use it maybe 10 times a year so it’s just a waste of battery time and weight for me.
